Please join us for the exciting launch of the Diversi-T Series this coming week in conjunction with Climate Week NYC. These opening events begin on Monday, September 21st at the Action Center to End World Hunger on the Battery, and continue through Saturday, September 26th with a program for children and families at the TSalon in the Chelsea Market. Social entrepreneurs Miriam Novalle of the TSalon, and Sarabeth Levine of Sarabeth’s Kitchen have galvanized a coalition of New York organizations to launch the Diversi-T
Series, a succession of events being produced throughout the remainder of 2009 that will explore Building Community Through a Culture of Human Rights and Sustainability.
Diversi-T Climate Week events are presented in support of the September 22nd UnitedNations Summit on Global Climate Change. The purpose is to reinforce a call for action onglobal warming by individuals, governments and institutions both here in the United States and throughout the world.
Our hope is that as people come to understand more clearly the common risks we all face, we will be able to move more effectively towards shared solutions for preventive and protective action.
After its opening week, the Diversi-T Series continues throughout 2009, highlighting related issues of urban agriculture, social enterprise, architecture and design, along with a focus on a human rights approach to sustainable development. These topics will be explored through interactions with experts and thought leaders, visual and performing artists, social activists, and the general public.
